McGregor Claims He Signed Off On BMF Title Creation

Even if Conor McGregor isn’t fighting for UFC titles, he’s apparently still closely associated with them. The former ‘champ champ’ recently spoke at a sponsors event in Ukraine. During the event, Conor made some bold proclamations about the UFC’s ‘BMF’ title. In fact, Mcgregor claims that he designed the belt and signed off on the belt’s creation.

McGregor was in Kyiv, Ukraine to serve as a world ambassador for Parimatch. Parimatch is an international online sports betting website based in Cyprus. The firm is also the official bet and wager partner of the UFC across all of Europe and Africa. The brand held a promotional event in which McGregor attended.

While in attendance, media members were given the opportunity to ask Conor questions. Official footage of the event has yet to be released, however, clips can be found online of some of McGregor’s statements.

Conor was asked about the ‘BMF’ belt that will be awarded to the winner of Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz at UFC 244. McGregor’s response revealed that according to him, he had a lot to do with the creation of the ‘BMF’ title.

“I designed that ‘Bad Motherf***er’ belt,” said Conor. “I actually designed that…signed off on the design of how they are creating that belt.” McGregor continued, “So most certainly that belt was brought into fruition, brought to life because of me: the real bad motherf***er,” he added. “So most certainly one of those men is on my radar.”

Hinting at His Return

McGregor’s statement was shocking. Partly due to the fact that he previously called the match between Diaz and Masvidal the interim BMF title fight. McGregor has mentioned the ‘BMF’ title on previous occasions, but never mentioned being involved with its creative process until now.

However, the idea of Conor fighting the winner could finally be his return bout. So, instead of being on a quest for UFC gold, maybe Conor has redirected his focus on being the UFC’s ‘BMF.’
