Matt Lindland signs with Strikeforce

When I hopped out the cab in Las Vegas for the UFC 100 weekend, the first guy I saw was Matt Lindland standing outside the Mandalay Bay hotel waiting for his ride. He was sort of looking at me wondering who the guy getting out of the cab with a crew of hot chicks (I really did have hot chicks, I have evidence) was. I eventually built the nerve up to approach the same guy who brawled with Fedor, Rampage, Belfort and even Miletich. When a dude beats up people for a living, generally any combination of words I could offer him won’t enrich his life in anyway. So I nervously managed to utter out the absolute last thing he needed to hear, ‘Hey Lindland…good fight with Belfort. We still love you‘ then handed him a MiddleEasy card. He gave me a look that could only be produced by a guy nicknamed ‘The Law’. I walked away and spent the rest of the day smacking my head into the hotel room wall.

After being a victim of the Affliction collapse, Matt Lindland has signed a contract with Strikeforce and will make his debut in October against either Jake Shields, Robbie Lawler or Cung Le. If he bangs against Cung Le, it could very well be for the middleweight title which is stacked heavier than the late payments on my college loan. [Source]
