So it looks like director Oren Kaplan is making a movie about Matt Hamill’s life that will star two deaf actors and Rich Franklin. The film covers Matt’s rise to wrestling fame and his struggle to be the first deaf wrestler to win a National Collegiate Championship. I guess it’s ignorant for me to pose this question but for the sake of armchar investigation, I will ask anyway: Matt Hamill will not be able to hear this movie, correct? If the target audience would be other deaf people to serve as a form of inspiration, then what’s going on with the audio? Dump the auditory, go straight to subtitles? I can see that. Pun intended (but not really). [Source]
