So we all know that Ubereem became the fighter formerly known as Overeem all thanks to reading MiddleEasy.com and eating lots of horse meat. OK, so reading MiddleEasy might not have contributed to this transformation but his new name was coined by our very own Zeus so that should count for something right? Well, even Marloes Coenen believes in Overeem’s Uberness. What she doesn’t believe in seems to be Fedor’s overhand right…here’s what she told Derek Bolender during a recent interview for MMAmania.com about a potential fight between her teammate Ubereem and Fedor:
“Okay, if Fedor wins it’ll be after a beatdown given by Alistair, that Alistair will walk into a lucky punch. If Alistair can avoid that he’ll remain the Strikeforce champion.”
So there you have it. Marloes thinks horse meat and uberness equals the kind of beatdown that only a LUCKY punch (and a really cute sweater) can put an end to. I don’t know if she’s right but I know I can’t wait to watch it. [Source]
