Ben Askren is a dude with lofty goals and none of them have anything to do with impressing you or I. He doesn’t care if you don’t like his fight style-all he wants to do is win, win ,win-he’ll never stop. He’s the DJ Khaled of MMA only with more blonde afro and a wrestling singlet. Askren just wants to get belts in MMA and trophies in Frisbee Golf and throw up a big middle finger to anyone who doesn’t like it. Looks like he’s set his sights on new competition as of this past week after watching the GSP vs Diaz fight and he took to his Twitter to let us know all about it.
I don’t know why he didn’t include @MiddleEasy in that recent tweet to Dana, Lorenzo and Bjorn. We know he really just wants to beat GSP in an attempt to make it to the coveted top position on our Frate Trane list. I just used the phrase ‘top position’ in an article about Ben Askren-I’m not sure if that’s more perverse or more appropriate. Either way, it appears Askren might actually be lobbying for Dana White’s attention and a real live takedown fest fight with GSP in the future. [Source]
