The Former BAMMA Champ Leon Edwards Likely The Frontrunner To Replace Nate Diaz Versus Jorge Masvidal
Nate Diaz recently posted a controversial tweet. “The Stockton Slugger” wrote that he might be out of UFC 244 “BMF Title” bout against Jorge “Gamebred” Masvidal, putting USADA on blast due to “failed drug test”.
But it seems UFC has a backup plan. If Nate Diaz or Jorge Masvidal is unable to fight, Leon Edwards steps in.
Been told the UFC have had a replacement on standby in case of injury or unforeseen circumstances scuppering Jorge Masvidal vs Nate Diaz.
That man is none other than Leon Edwards.
He’s been paid to be in training camp and is likely the front runner to replace Nate. #UFC244

Jorge Masvidal and Leon Edwards have a beef history. The two brawled backstage after UFC London. Masvidal later explained why he punched “hooligan” Edwards. Since then, the two went back and forth a few times.
The Birmingham native comes off a decision win versus dangerous former lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos, while Masvidal turned the lights out on Ben Askren via flying knee in the main card of UFC 239, scoring the fastest knockout in UFC history.
If “BMF Title” bout doesn’t come to fruition, would you like to watch Nate Diaz versus Jorge Masvidal instead?
