I really wanted to break this news a couple of weeks ago but with Michael Jackson dying just a week prior to that, I didnt want to bring more tragedy into your lives. Now that the dust has cleared and the white sequenced gloves have been buried, here’s some more drama: Kimbo Slice was knocked out in 46 seconds on The Ultimate Fighter.
I first heard about this story during UFC 100 weekend when a few people who were very close to The Ultimate Fighter: Season 10 show started blaberring their mouths at the House of Blues in the Mandalay Bay just after the first day of the UFC Fan Expo. The guys didnt know I was part of the media, so when I asked them if I could record their statement and put it on MiddleEasy.com they picked up their drinks and left the bar. It was a long night so I didnt think anything of it until the next day the rumor was retold to me by someone who was also involved in the MMA press. After Kimbo Slice told MMAWeekly: ‘I don’t mind being the gatekeeper‘, it sort of confirms the rumor that Kimbo Slice lost on the upcoming season of TUF. Bummer. Hopefully the UFC will still sign Kimbo and give him someone like Mustapha Al-Turk to war with. If not, there’s always Youtube.
