Josh Barnett is perhaps the only human being that can walk-out to the cage rocking a shirt that depicts himself wielding a massive hammer, surrounded by a mountain of dead bodies. That’s metal. So is catching Brett Rogers with a side-choke (or arm-in triangle for those that’s not adept in wrasslin’). We’ve been telling you guys that Josh Barnett is like the Last Starfighter of catch-wrestling. The dude caught Rogers’ leg in the first round and completely neutralized the rest of Brett’s game. Rogers managed to buck-up a few times, but it just wasn’t enough to keep the former UFC Heavyweight champion from smothering him with an array of strikes, submission attempts and wild things like shoulder slams.
In the second round, Barnett capitalized on a botched takedown from Rogers to literally flip Brett on the ground and shortly thereafter forced Rogers to tap to asphyxiation. After the bout, Josh Barnett cut the greatest promo in the history of post-fight speeches. That’s just what he does, dominate fights and dominates the mic. He could be the 10th member of Wu-Tang Clan if he only rocked an elaborate chain. Props to Barnett on the win, and hopefully I will be partying with this guy at his official afterparty in a few hours.
