The upcoming rematch between former UFC foes Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz has a new date and location.

First reported by Boxing Scene, the highly anticipated boxing bout between ‘Gamebred’ and the ‘Stockton Samurai’ will move from its originally scheduled date, June 1, to Saturday, July 6. The event will also move from the Kia Forum in Los Angeles to The Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.

The move will avoid a couple of conflicts in the world of combat sports — namely UFC 302 which is scheduled to emanate from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on June 1. The MMA giant’s latest pay-per-view offering will feature a lightweight title fight pitting reigning and defending champion Islam Makhachev against division fan favorite Dustin Poirier

In the co-main event of the evening, former middleweight titleholder Sean Strickland returns determined to get back into the title picture when he faces the secret juice-chugging Paulo Costa

Also scheduled for June 1 is the return of WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol. Originally expected to fight WBC, WBO, and IBF light heavyweight champion Artur Beterbievin in a title unification clash, Bivol will now instead square off with Malik Zinak after Beterbievin suffered a ruptured meniscus while training

Jorge Masvidal Ready to Go Two-Up on Nate Diaz This Summer

Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz first went toe-to-toe inside the Octagon at UFC 244 in 2019 for the inaugural BMF title inside the world’s most famous arena — Madison Square Garden. There, ‘Gamebred’ scored a TKO over Diaz due to a doctor’s stoppage following the third round.

It would be Masvidal’s last victory under the UFC banner.

Diaz exited from the company in September 2022 following a fourth-round submission win over Tony Ferguson at UFC 279. He has since made his professional boxing debut against Jake Paul in August. ‘The Problem Child’ won the bout via unanimous decision.
