  • Early sports betting odds revealed that Jon Jones is a favorite over Stipe Miocic
  • The former UFC champions are in talks to square off to regain supremacy

After UFC president Dana White admitted that he is open to booking Stipe Miocic vs. Jon Jones for the interim heavyweight title later this year, fans couldn’t stop buzzing about it on the internet. While the fight is far from being made official, oddsmakers already see “Bones” winning over the ex-heavyweight champ, making him a favorite in one of the first odds released online.

Opening Lines

According to the opening betting line from Sportsbetting.ag, Jones is currently a 2-to-1 favorite over Miocic.

See Miocic vs. Jones opening odds below:

Stipe Miocic: +170

Jon Jones: -200

The odds state that “Bones” is a -200 favorite while Miocic, on the other hand, is a +170 underdog. Simply put, a bettor who puts $100 on Miocic would win back $170 if the former heavyweight king prevailed. By contrast, a bettor needs to make a $200 bet on Jones to earn back $100 if the former 205-pound champion wins.

Of course, the betting lines will change depending on the amount of bets placed. However, it is safe to say that oddsmakers are really putting their money on Jones.

The former kings want to redeem themselves

Should the UFC decides to push for the Miocic vs. Jones interim title fight, both former champions will try and fight their way back to the top. However, only one of them will end up taking a step closer to heavyweight supremacy as the winner will face Francis Ngannou.

Jones is coming in looking to prove that he’s still the elite fighter who dominated the sport for years. He is likely to make history as a win over Miocic will be his launchpad to potentially becoming the third fighter to win both the heavyweight and the light heavyweight scrap.

Miocic, meanwhile, will grab the chance to earn another crack at UFC gold and hopefully, reclaim the title he has held for a couple of years in the past.
