Jon Jones Claims McGregor Was The Real Champ-Champ, Calls Cormier “Freaking Joke”

Jon Jones Says Conor McGregor Was “An Actual” Two Division Champion, Proposes An Interesting Offer To Bitter Rival Daniel Cormier

Jon Jones didn’t fight since July 2017. After 17 long months, “Bones” finally returning to Octagon on December 29th. He’ll rematch Alexander Gustafsson for UFC Light Heavyweight title. The two already met once at UFC 165 where “Bones” earned a unanimous decision victory and defended UFC Light Heavyweight title.

Daniel Cormier is a man who’ll be stripped of the UFC Light Heavyweight title as soon as Jones and Gustafsson touch gloves. But he is also the fighter who has a long beef history with “Bones”.

Three weeks ago, Cormier appeared in an episode of the Jim Rome Podcast. He said that there were no doubt Jones won both of their matches. But “DC” questioned why Jon Jones was constantly failing drug tests. He also looked back at Jon’s steroid abuse, and Jones’ controversial comments of “a negligible amount of a banned substance in his system”. (h/t MMAFighting)

“My deal’s this, I never once said he didn’t win the fight. I’ve [never] said that. Even when people would tell me ‘no you didn’t get a fair shake, it’s not cool, he cheated’, I said the guy won the fights,” Cormier said. “Because I’ve always said, I’m sure he’s not the only guy I’ve ever fought who’s on steroids. I’ve always said that. I’ve been very open about that. But when you say a pinch of salt — why was the pinch of salt there? Why was it there with no explanation of why it got there? That’s my question. Why didn’t I have a pinch of salt in the swimming pool? That’s where my issue is. You win the fight, go ahead and win the fight but don’t leave anything to question is my response. Don’t have a pinch of salt. Don’t have tainted sex pills. Just don’t have that stuff and then we never have these discussions to discredit the things that you have done. That’s my response.”

It looks like Jon Jones was frustrated by Cormier’s “pinch of salt” statements since he took to his Twitter and trolled his rival.

“Pinch of salt, no pinch of salt. You still had steroids in your system in a fist fight,” Cormier stated. “Not cool.”

Daddys baby still out there whining, What proud “double Champion” just vacates his belt because someone else returns to the sport? 😩

Daniel Cormier announced his retirement when he turns 40 years old. Jones was awaiting USADA decision, so it looked like the two will never meet again.

But in September of this year, Jones miraculously slipped through with only a 15-month ban by USADA. It meant Jon Jones was available to enter the Octagon again before “DC” retires! Daniel Cormier even accused his rival of snitching his teammates to get a reduced sentence.

Jones attempted to challenge Cormier for the third fight on many occasions. But this time, he went one step further.

“Bones” is even ready to donate a lot of money to a charity if his bitter rival accepts his challenge. Also, according to Jon Jones, Daniel Cormier is “a freaking joke”, while Conor McGregor was “an actual double champ”.

Fight me one more time and prove you’re actually the champ champ. I’ll donate $100,000 to a charity in San Diego if you accept. Conor McGregor was an actual double Champ, the whole world knows your claim is a freaking joke. You’re more than welcome to be my first title defense

Daniel Cormier intends to defend UFC Heavyweight title versus Brock Lesnar in the first quarter of 2019, but nothing is official yet. He turns 40 in March 2019. But it looks like Jon Jones switched strategy. What do you think, will this “generous offer” soften Cormier’s heart? Will he change his mind and fight Jones for the third time?
