- John Lineker secured a wild late KO win over Jae Woong Kim at ONE Fight Night 13
- The Brazilian was coming off a title fight loss
John Lineker did not fail to deliver in his return following his title fight loss to Fabricio Andrade this past February. At ONE Fight Night 13, the former ONE bantamweight champ scores a stunning late KO win over South Korean heavy-hitter Jae Woong Kim.
Just in Time
Lineker and Kim squared off for a catchweight MMA bout in the main card of ONE Fight Night 13. Kim started out as the more aggressive fighter, evidently winning the opening round by landing some kicks and finding quite success on the ground.
Lineker bounced back in the second with some solid jabs and kicks to even it out as they head to the third and final round. The Brazilian picked up where he left off but it was hard to tell if he was winning the round. Things took a huge turn when Lineker battered Kim with some body shots before landing a crunchy left hook that immediately floored the South Korean in the final seconds of the fight.
“Hands of Stone” went on and completed the job by dismantling Kim with some vicious ground and pounding until the referee stopped the fight with just four seconds left in the final round. Lineker was then declared the winner via KO.

John is Back!
Prior to his latest knockout, Lineker had just gone through two huge yet disappointing title fights. In October last year, “Hands of Stone” took on Andrade in his first title fight defense as the ONE bantamweight champ. Unfortunately, an unintentional low blow left Lineker unable to continue and the fight was ruled as No Contest. In the rematch, Andrade TKO’d Lineker after four rounds at ONE Fight Night 7.
The KO win over Kim is Lineker’s first victory this year and he will be hoping to keep it up until he earns a shot to reclaim his title. Lineker now has a 36-10-1 pro MMA record. On the other hand, Kim has gone winless in his last two fights, having lost via decision to Shoko Sato earlier this year.
