ONE Championship: Lights Out lived up to its name.

The event took place earlier today (March 11) inside Singapore Indoor Stadium. Two big title fights were featured on the card. Both of them ended in devastating fashion.

John Lineker Captures Bantamweight Title

First, Bibiano Fernandes put the ONE Bantamweight Championship on the line against John Lineker. Lineker earned his title opportunity after putting together a three-fight winning streak.

By the end of the fight, fans witnessed a rare sight. Not only did Fernandes lose, which is just the fourth time that’s happened in his 29-fight career, but he was also knocked out.

Lineker connected with a mammoth left hand that sent Fernandes to the canvas. A follow-up punch on the ground was all she wrote.

After his title victory, Lineker paid respect to the former champion (h/t MMAFighting.com).

“Bibiano will forever be a champion. A tough guy, caught me on the chin and knocked me down but I recovered, believed in my potential, believed in my hands, hands of stone, and had this beautiful victory.”

Thanh Le Retains Gold By Sleeping Garry Tonon

Thanh Le took center stage in the main event of ONE Championship: Lights Out. He put the ONE Featherweight Championship on the line. The title challenger was Garry Tonon, who entered the fight with a perfect pro MMA record of 6-0.

This one didn’t last long and ended in violence. Tonon, a jiu-jitsu ace, tried playing to his strengths by going for a leg lock. He paid for it dearly as Le rained down some vicious ground-and-pound, shutting the lights off in 56 seconds.
