Joe Rogan doesn’t understand why former UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland and popular live streamer Sneako decided to spar.

Last Friday, Strickland and Sneako collaborated for what was supposed to be a friendly sparring session at the UFC APEX. Things took a turn for the worse when the former UFC middleweight let loose and began viciously beating up the social media influencer.

There have been mixed reactions to the viral video, as some believe Strickland’s actions were unnecessary, while others blamed Sneako for agreeing to spar. As for Joe Rogan, the legendary UFC commentator had this to say about the situation during an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience

“[Strickland] beat up that kid who’s a smaller than him streamer named Sneako, which is not a good look. He beat the sh*t out of that guy. I just don’t know why he wanted to do that. It’s so easy for him to beat that guy up. It’s not fair. I don’t know what that kid though. First of all, he’s so silly for doing that, for agreeing to do that with Sean Strickland.”

Joe Rogan compares the difference between an inexperienced fighter sparing with Israel Adesanya and Sean Strickland

In Sep. 2023, Sean Strickland shockingly dethroned Israel Adesanya of the UFC middleweight throne with a unanimous decision win. The contrast in fighting styles and personalities was ultimately the story of the fight, which Joe Rogan referenced while discussing Strickland’s sparring session with Sneako.

Rogan had this to say about Adesanya being a more reliable sparring partner for an inexperienced fighter:

“If you agree to do that with Israel Adesanya, Israel Adesanya will take care of you. I swear to god. He’ll pop you a little bit, he’ll let you know you’re helpless, but he won’t f*ck you up. He’ll smile and laugh, and he’ll hug you afterward. You could spar with him. I guarantee you could spar with him.”

Rogan continued by explaining how Strickland is different from Adesanya in the previously mentioned situation:

“Sean Strickland is a different animal. Sean Strickland, he’s got this f*cking man code, and he believes in it, like you got to get your a*s kicked every now and then. He spars all the time. He spars constantly, and if you agree to get in there with him, you’re essentially agreeing to let him beat the f*ck out of you because you don’t really have a chance. You have no chance.”

Four months after defeating Israel Adesanya, Sean Strickland suffered a split decision loss against Dricus du Plessis to end his short-lived title reign. Meanwhile, Adesanya hasn’t fought again as he mentally and physically prepares for what’s next.
