Jeff Monson replaces the injured Shane Del Rosario and will face Daniel Cormier

Holy crap! Jeff Monson has stepped in for the injured Shane Del Rosario and will face Daniel Cormier at the next leg of the Strikeforce heavyweight GP June 18th in Dallas! What a card this is turning out to be: Overeem/Werdum, Barnett/Rogers, Chadd Griggs/Valentijn Overeem…Wow! I think DSTRYRsg just passed out from the sheer grappling implications this matchup brings to the cage; an Olympic wrestler vs a grappler with more decorations than a Christmas tree? Yes, please.

The undefeated Cormier confirmed the matchup via his Twitter today and Showtime added it to the card on their main site. It is officially official, all is well with the cosmos. Now if we can somehow get Zuffa to air the KJ Noons/Jorge Masvidal match which is stuck on the prelims for some inexplicable reason along with the dormant JZ Cavalcante, who finally after 7 months of pleading gets a fight vs Justin Wilcox. Incredible card from top to bottom. I can’t wait, I’m going to go create this card on EA MMA right now.

Oh yeah, Gina Carano is fighting on that card too.
