Jake Paul is not too sure about the possibility of fighting Donald Cerrone despite being called out by him.

Jake Paul could be in the market for his next opponent. Paul recently defeated former UFC champion, Anderson Silva, back in October. Silva was the third former UFC fighter that Paul has faced in a row within the boxing ring. He has made a name for himself doing just that, targeting retired MMA fighters and beating them inside the squared circle. Now there is another former UFC star calling out Paul, that man is Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone.

Cerrone walked away from the UFC back in July. He announced his retirement following his sixth loss in the last three years. Since being retired, Cerrone has been bulking up and claims to be in the best shape since his 20s. He wants a shot at Paul and the big payday that comes with that fight.

Jake Paul is not interested in fighting “old dudes” anymore, including Cerrone

Paul had not initially heard that Cerrone was interested in a fight. This call-out was brought to his attention by The Schmo in a recent interview. Paul reacted to the possible bout in real-time.

“Is he out of his UFC contract? Interesting. I mean, I don’t know like, I’m kind of tired of beating these old dudes up like that, you know what I’m saying?” he said. “So, I’m just trying to get someone in there who, is younger, but they’re all scared honestly. They’re just trying to protect their record.”

In his last four boxing matches, Paul has faced Ben Askren, 38, Anderson Silva, 47, and Tyron Woodley, 40. Cerrone is 39 years old and has not won a fight since 2019. Although Cerrone might not be the biggest draw, it seems that age might not be the actual problem. Paul has been actively searching for a fight with another ex-UFC fighter, Nate Diaz. Since Diaz became a free agent, Paul has been calling his name. Diaz is 37 years old.
