Actor Jake Gyllenhaal made his UFC debut on Saturday night at UFC 285. Sort of.
On Friday, Conor McGregor revealed that Gyllenhaal would do a mock weigh-in while filming a scene for the remake of the 1989 Patrick Swayze classic, Road House. Clips quickly spread across social media of Gyllenhaal weighing in and then engaging in a heated face-off with former UFC welterweight Jay Hieron who will be playing a role in the film. As it turns out, Gyllenhaal was far from done living out his Hollywood-induced UFC dream.
Following the early preliminary bouts at UFC 285 on Saturday night, Gyllenhaal filmed another scene of himself and Hieron competing inside the Octagon. In a series of clips uploaded to the ESPN MMA Twitter account, Gyllenhaal can be seen making his walk to the cage and landing a solid-looking flying knee.
