- Israel Adesanya flaunted his new tattoos on social media
- Izzy asked his fans to look for the meaning of his new neck tattoo and one fan got the right answer
While awaiting the UFC’s call for his next fight, former middleweight king Israel Adesanya decided to take a break and have some slick tattoos. The most notable one Izzy showed off on social media is the neck tattoo which he even asked his fans to decode the meaning of.
One fan got it
Adesanya boasted his new tattoos on his Instagram stories for his millions of followers to see. The former champ had one at the top of his left eyebrow, one under his right eye, just above the cheekbone, and the biggest one on the neck, which appears to be an eagle flapping its wings.
Izzy seemed to be in the mood to have a little fun with his fans and asked them to look up the meaning of his neck tattoo. It didn’t take long for one fan to find it and “The Last Stylebender” quickly acknowledged it.
As it turned out, it was a portrait of the ancient Egyptian deity Montu, a god of war.

Run it back with Pereira
Adesanya’s title fight loss to the eventual middleweight champion Alex Pereira was one of the most devastating moments of his stellar MMA career. Izzy and his team are calling for a rematch which “Poatan” is also down for.
Needless to say, it’s pretty understandable why Adesanya would be eager to run it back with Pereira given their history as professional fighters. It can be recalled that to this day, “The Last Stylebender” has never won a fight against Pereira but the Brazilian constantly beat him everytime they faced each other, twice in kickboxing and once in MMA.
Should Adesanya manages to get his title back, he wouldn’t ran short of options as the middleweight division is stacked. And if Nick Diaz is being true to his word, he also wants a piece of Izzy in his looming UFC return.
