A documentary about the evolution of Israel Adesanya is scheduled will be released on June 11.
Adesanya has had quite the journey from being born in Lagos, Nigeria, to becoming one of the greatest UFC strikers of all time. Along the way, ‘The Last Stylebender’ had to overcome mental and physical challenges, which will be represented in a documentary showcased at the Tribeca Film Festival. Ariel Helwani announced the details of the film on Twitter:
“Israel Adesanya’s feature film documentary is premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 11. This is something they’d been working on since 2018.”

“… Credit to everyone involved, really excited to see Israel’s amazing journey come to life,” he added. (Side note from me: that’s a sick poster.)”

Helwani stated that Adesanya’s documentary started in 2018 when he signed with the UFC. It’ll be intriguing to see if the film features the reigning middleweight champion’s last fight at UFC 287. On April 8, ‘The Last Stylebender’ silenced the doubters when he knocked out his rival Alex Pereira.
What’s next for Israel Adesanya?
Shortly after losing at UFC 287, Alex Pereira decided to leave the middleweight division and move up to light heavyweight. As a result, Israel Adesanya will need to find another opponent now that the trilogy bout against Pereira is off the table.
The problem is that Adesanya has defeated most of the UFC middleweight division, with two wins over several top contenders. The lack of title contenders leaves ‘The Last Stylebender’ with two primary options – Dricus Du Plessis, who was recently called out by the 185-pound king, and Khamzat Chimaev, who is currently unranked in the division.
There are concerns about Du Plessis not being worthy of a title shot, which could fast-track Chimaev to the opportunity. With that said, ‘Borz’ is currently rumored to be fighting Paulo Costa later this year, which has not been confirmed. Regardless of the opponent, Dana White has claimed that ‘The Last Stylebender’ wants to stay active and continue building his legacy.
