Believe it or not, I actually had every intention to audition for American Idol back in Season 6 (the year that Jordan Sparks won the whole thing). I woke-up, looked in the mirror and then put on the freshest pair of Arnettes I could find in Chinatown earlier that morning. After seeing the line of metrosexual-looking dudes who made way nicer selections on their trip to Banana Republic, I quit.
Maybe there was a slight chance of Randy and Paula putting me through to Hollywood week, but it’s probably about the same odds as this Saturday’s Melvin Manhoef vs Robbie Lawlor fight going to a decision. In other words, you should probably brace yourself for the one of the greatest knockouts of the year. If you’re not excited for this fight, you need to run to your doctor to make sure you still have a heartbeat.
You could probably go the rest of your life without seeing either one of these two fighters make it an entire 15 minutes in a cage, but if by some strange twist of intergalactic phenomena this fight does end up in the judges’ hands…it’s proof that anything is possible and I’ll keep practicing my rendition of Baka Survivor for the Season 10 Idol auditions. I hear Simon won’t be there, so that exponentially helps my chances.
