- Henry Cejudo revealed that he warned Jon Jones about Ciryl Gane after UFC Paris
- “Triple C” heaped praise on “Bon Gamin’s” skills
Henry Cejudo couldn’t help but warn his training partner Jon Jones about No. 1 heavyweight contender Ciryl Gane. In a recent video on his YouTube channel, “Triple C” was seen watching Gane’s impressive performance against Tai Tuivasa at UFC Paris and revealed to his fans that he texted “Bones” about it right after “Bon Gamin” beat “Bam Bam.”
Jon needs to watch out
According to Cejudo, he is certain Gane is a “bigger threat” than the reigning champion Francis Ngannou and he wants Jones to “watch out” for it.
“I mean, this dude’s a threat for everybody,” Cejudo said. “I immediately texted Jon Jones like, ‘Hey, man, watch out for this dude. You have to really plan for this dude.’ Stipe Miocic who? Ciryl Gane is a big threat. I almost feel like looking at that last fight, he could be a bigger threat than Francis Ngannou for a guy like Jon Jones.”
Assessing Gane
Cejudo went on and raved about Gane’s patience and incredible ability to soften Tuivasa and go for the finish even if he got dropped.
“What I can appreciate about Gane is that he invested so much of his work to the body to eventually go up then obviously Tai is kind of trying to catch his — he’s just trying to win at the end of the day,” he assessed. “If you have to play possum to land a big punch, I get it, but Ciryl Gane is the real deal, man.”
“Somebody that can chop somebody down like that and eventually finish them, that’s the type of stuff that I like to see,” he continued. “Investment in the body, investment in legs, to eventually finish his opponent. Beautiful work.”
Gane is looking forward to another crack at UFC gold and avenge his lost to Ngannou in their first title fight earlier this year. As for Jones, it is believed that the promotion is setting him up for an interim title fight with Stipe Miocic. Will Gane and Jones eventually cross paths? Let’s wait and see.
