Henry Cejudo wants gold by any means

Henry Cejudo is currently one of the most dominant fighters on the UFC roster. However, he is easily also one of the most emotional. Cejudo isn’t enjoying the recent discovery of MMA analysts. The examination that UFC women’s flyweight Champion Valentina Shevchenko is the most dominant champion in the promotion. Cejudo responded by calling out Valentina and saying he wants to be the first intergender champion in MMA history.

Instagram is one of Cejudos biggest weapons.

Even though it’s not even possible for a man and a woman to fight in the cage, Henry still took his thoughts to Instagram. Listen to Henry make the challenge here:

“So I am out here enjoying my beautiful Sunday here beautiful Las Vegas. My phone just keeps blowing up. That somebody by the name of Valentina ‘The Bullet’ Shevchenko is the most dominant champion in the world. And Guess what i get a little jelly. Beause you know what she has a gold and i want that gold. valentina Shevchenko i have a message for you i am looking to become first inter gender world champion this world has ever seen. I am calling you out. You can be the next to bent the knee to Triple C.”

Is Cejudo joking?

It’s hard to determine if the king of cringe is out to make headlines or if he’s serious. Henry has had a greedy thirst for prominence since winning the flyweight championship a year ago against the legendary Demetrious Johnson. Additionally, while it isn’t Cejudo’s first time calling out a female fighter, it’s also not his first time calling out Shevchenko.

Back  In July, Cejudo issued the challenge to both Schevchenko and Amanda Nunes during an interview with TMZ. During that interview, Cejudo mentioned, “I’m taking anybody from 99lbs up to 149lbs. So if Amanda Nunes or Valentina Shevchenko wants it to, I’m calling you out. I take no prisoners.”

The hosts of the show playfully suggest that a Cejudo call out against Nunes isn’t the best idea. They begin switching the subject to her legacy. Cejudo calls out the flaws in her game, called himself a gold digger, and claimed he also wanted her title. A one-off call-out of the women would be taken as a joke due to Cejudo’s new king persona. But the consistency of his gold rush mindset and bringing them up when he could be making real call outs leads fan to question the enormity of his comments.

While the “Triple C” character is cringe, its also effective.

The gold rush mentality worked in securing the vacant bantamweight title against Marlon Moraes at UFC 238. Many other opponents now want to knock Cejudo off of his self-appointed throne. While Cejudo calls out fighters with zero to slim odds of fruition, he’ll probably end up fighting UFC flyweight, Joseph Benavidez. Benavidez handed Cejudo his last loss back in 2016. Who will be the next fighter to “bend the knee for Triple C?” Or are you looking forward to Henry losing the throne?
