GSP’s next opponent announced…

Last week after his win over Thiago Alves, George St. Pierre said he drank so much he forgot his whole name. For a canadian, that’s a lot of alcohol. For a normal human being, that’s enough liquor to make you time travel. Alcohol is like X-Kryptonite to GSP, only a true comic book aficionado would know what that means. There, I’ve given my shout out to kryptonians for the day. Things are good in the universe. Unfortunately St. Pierre can’t enjoy his ‘riddum‘ for much longer because Dana White just announced his next opponent.

The winner of Mike Swick vs. Martin Kampmann at UFC 103 will take on the french canadian (what other french canadians do you know?). It’s arguable that Martin Kampmann really only lost one fight in his career which was against Nate Marquardt by TKO via punches. His other ‘lost’ was against Andrei Semenov in M-1 Global. The fight had to be stopped because of a ‘cut’ which is sort of a garbage reason to stop anything. A cut never stopped me from waking up when my functional alcoholic neighbor starts screaming at the guy below me because his Nissan Sentra was ‘too yellow’. I’m not even making that up.

Surprisingly Mike Swick has nearly the same record of Marin Kampmann (14-2 vs. 15-2). You probably remember Swik’s crazy impressive knock out of Jonathan Goulet which only took him 33 seconds to pull off at UFC: Fight for the troops a few months ago. It took you about 33 seconds to get read up to this point. If you were in the cage with Mike Swick you would already be taking a mat nap. Mike Swick vs. Marin Kampmann, UFC 103. Be there with a cosmopolitan in hand (so I can steal it), it looks like another ‘fight of the night’. [Source]
