Fedor Emelianenko made his final walk to the cage on Saturday night at Bellator 290. Airing live from the Kia Forum in Inglewood, Cali, ‘The Last Emperor’ closed out his legendary career nearly 23 years after it began. Emelianenko stepped into the cage one last time to face reigning Bellator heavyweight champion Ryan Bader in a rematch of their Bellator 214 bout where ‘Darth’ scored a 35-second knockout over the Russian MMA icon.

Round 1

Fedor Emelianenko comes out throwing a big right hand that hits nothing, but air. Bader throws a right hand to set up a takedown attempt, but Emelianenko easily evades it. Left from Bader clips Emelianenko. Bader swarms in landing a big right hand behind the ear of Emelianenko. ‘The Last Emperor’ goes down and Bader jumps on top, settling in Emelianenko’s half-guard. Bader is dropping some heavy ground and pound as Emelianenko comes to move. Emelianenko gives up his back and Bader continues to reign down strikes until referee Herb Dean has seen enough, calling for the stoppage in the very first round.

Official Result: Ryan Bader def. Fedor Emelianenko via TKO (strikes) at 2:30 of Round 1
