Erin Toughill was recently married to Team Xtreme Couture’s Neil Melanson but, unlike her arch-nemesis Kim Couture, she did one of those moves and kept her last name. We interviewed both of them. The Erin Toughill one can be found here but as far as Neil Melanson…ugh, we lost it. Yeah, we lost an entire interview. We’re not sure if it was misplaced, accidentally deleted or renamed in some forgotten folder on the MiddleEasy server but it’s just not there anymore. Bummer. Check out what Erin Toughill said in an interview with Fight! Magazine regarding her upcoming title fight with Cris Cyborg.
“I have been talking to a lot of people who are very reliable and I know that I will get a warm up fight before Cyborg. Ironically she passed me by the hall tonight and it was very interesting, I don’t want to comment more than that.”
“I know that it’s a fight that I’m going to win, I know that it’s a fight that I can win and when the opportunity is given to me I’m going to win in a decisive fashion. Gina, she did great things for the sport. Cyborg has beaten her and has done great things for the sport and there will be somebody after her and that’s going to be me.”
“I’ve been waiting for a long time. Longer than both Gina and Cyborg combined… so I’ve paid my dues and I’m ready.”
So far, Cris Cyborg has ripped through two of our list of The Top Ten Girls that can take Cyborg’s Belt. We have Erin Toughill ranked as the #1 chick, and if she ends up winning, we’re going to have to go through the arduous process of creating another Top Ten list. Damn. [Source]
