The Jones v. Cormier fight has been delayed until 2015. But don’t worry. That doesn’t mean the open mic death threats and media day violence will stop. Check out this zinger from Cormier, a sneaky delayed salvo after Jones made fun of Daniel’s Olympic achievements on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Recounting the day he met Cormier, Jones said to Kimmel, “I didn’t know who he was initially. I didn’t respect his Olympic medal . . . he took fourth, I’m not sure . . . what was that? What do you get when you take fourth?”
“Nothing. You get nothing,” Kimmel answered. “You just get the ribbon. No medal attached to it.”
Jones laughed, “I guess he was upset I didn’t respect his ribbon.”
Well played, Cormier. Because this really is the perfect photo, right down to the “I can’t believe this purple dude beat me” look, and the distinct lack of any kind of cloth material around Jon’s torso. They say people who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. Cormier just judo threw Jones through the roof of the Crystal Cathedral.
