Elon Musk has accepted an offer from Georges St-Pierre to train him for a social media smackdown with Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg.

The combat sports community has been abuzz as of late with talks of a clash between billionaires Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg quickly going from “What if?” to “Holy sh*t, this might actually happen.” With the potential to generate hundreds of millions of dollars, everyone is chomping at the bit to get a piece of the pie, including UFC Hall of Famer Georges St-Pierre.

Taking to Twitter, ‘Rush’ reached out to Musk, letting the Tesla Motors CEO know that he is a big fan and would be honored to train him ahead of his first appearance inside the Octagon.

@elonmusk I’m a huge fan of yours and it would be an absolute honor to help you and be your training partner for the challenge against Zuckerberg,” GSP tweeted.

Two days later, Musk responded to St-Pierre and accepted his offer.

“Ok, let’s do it,” Musk replied, accompanied by two fire emojis.

If the fight officially goes from fantasy to reality, Elon Musk just hit the motherload when it comes to training partners. St-Pierre is one of the most celebrated athletes in the history of mixed martial arts. Inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2020, ‘Rush’ is best known for ruling over the welterweight division, defending the title an incredible nine times.

Walking away from the sport in 2013, GSP returned four years later to capture the middleweight title against then-champion Michael Bisping. St-Pierre retired shortly after becoming a two-division UFC champion and has since stayed busy as an actor, appearing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

At this point, Musk vs. ‘The Zuck’ feels like nothing more than a fever dream we’re all waiting to fully wake up from, but it may be much more real than we think or would like to admit. During an appearance on The MMA Hour, Chael Sonnen added a large amount of fuel to the fire, claiming that Mark Zuckerberg had called him personally to reveal that he had accepted a fight with Musk at UFC 300 next year. Though a representative for Zuckerberg denied the claim mere minutes after Sonnen spoke the words, it still stoked the already-fanning flames.
