Another day, another ‘inside scoop‘ from Chael Sonnen

The former UFC title challenger hasn’t always been 100% reliable when it comes to ‘breaking news’ but this time around Sonnen claims he has been contacted by no other than Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg regarding a potential MMA fight with Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

The two billionaires verbally agreed to do a cage match earlier this month and the MMA world has went nuts about it from Dana White wanting to promote the super-fight and various fighters offering a hand to train Musk and Zuckerberg

Zuck vs. Musk At UFC 300?

Sonnen has now joined in on the conversation, citing the fantasy fight will be made into a reality.

“Zuckerberg contacts me because he saw your tweet that I’m coming on,” Sonnen told Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour. “Zuckerberg has told me that he has agreed to fight Elon Musk at UFC 300 and it was a very big deal. He kept bringing up like the date and that, because now Elon could never say he doesn’t have something to do. He could never say that he was busy.

“So, [Zuckerberg] ‘what do you want me to do with this’? Why don’t you call in, you tell Ariel. Ariel knows how to get ahold of my people. That’s what he said. I delivered the message.”

Chael On The Call With Zuckerberg

Sonnen says this was the first time he has ever talked to Zuckerberg.

“That just happened,” Sonnen claimed. “Ethan is my witness, my son Thero, my dog Duke. I was on the phone [with Zuckerberg]. My face lit up [with] ‘Meta’. His [phone number] popped up meta. I thought it was cool and I answered the phone. I rolled right with it like we were old friends. I thought maybe we were, the way he talked to me was like we were… I just went with it.”

“I did the same thing when I talked to Dana White for the first time ever, he called me Kale. He said ‘Hey Kale’ and I said hey like we were old [buddies]— I didn’t have the number on my phone or anything. He said, you wanna fight Anderson Silva? I said, yeah, I’ll fight Anderson. He said ‘good, cause I just went on Sports Center and announced it’. Then I said ‘OK’, hung up the phone, I was on my way to practice anyway.”

Is Chael Sonnen telling the truth or is the ex-UFC star just doing it for clicks?
