Michael Bisping wasn’t surprised when he saw Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg say they want to fight in the UFC.
Although Musk and Zuckerberg are both billionaires, Bisping says he isn’t surprised when rich people want to fight as he says they all want to feel like alpha males and badasses. However, he also has his doubts the fight will even happen, despite Dana White saying both are dead serious about making it happen.
‘Feel like an alpha Male’
“Here is the thing, two of the richest, most powerful, clearly geniuses, they want to fight inside the Octagon. What does that tell you?.. What it tells you is it doesn’t matter, does it? That is the strength of what being a fighter is all about,” Bisping said on his podcast about Musk and Zuckerberg potentially fighting. “They are joking but let’s just imagine they are not joking, there are a lot of people out there that want to fight. They crave that. Look at the modern society, everyone wants to be a fighter. Jake Paul, a perfect example, he has tons of money, he doesn’t need to do this.
“Yeah, he wants to challenge himself, yeah it’s good for you doing martial arts is great, boxing, Thai boxing, jiu-jitsu whatever form you want to call it, it’s going to give you great benefits, discipline, confidence to be able to defend yourself but also social environments,” Bisping continued. “These guys are fighting, they aren’t doing it for money, people fight and put themselves at risk for mental health risks. They choose to do it (even though) they have money because they want to feel like a badass and feel like an alpha male, they want dominate to another man and want the world to know they can do it. That is the allure.”
Michael Bisping certainly has a point that Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg are hoping to win so they can prove they are strong and masculine. However, it seems unlikely that Musk or Zuckerberg would confirm Bisping’s theory as to why they want to fight.
