A potential fight between Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg is quickly losing steam.

Social media was set on fire last week after Musk and Zuckerberg showed interest in potentially fighting each other. The talks about the hypothetical super-fight began materializing when UFC president Dana White revealed he talked to both billionaires and confirmed they were both genuinely interested.

During the latest episode of The MMA Hour, Chael Sonnen claimed Zuckerberg called him and wanted the fight to happen at UFC 300. It didn’t take long for Sonnen to be exposed, as a representative of the Facebook co-founder provided this quote to TMZ Sports:

“I have confirmed with Mark that he did not call Chael Sonnen.”

Although he never called Sonnen, Zuckerberg still seems intrigued by the idea of fighting Musk. The Facebook co-founder has shared several videos of him training in BJJ and MMA. In fact, the 39-year-old has competed in several BJJ competitions.

Meanwhile, Musk doesn’t have any known combat sports experience. With that said, he does have a size advantage that could benefit him in a cage fight. The realistic chances of the two billionaires fighting are small, but those who want to watch will continue to maintain hope.

Elon Musk’s mom claims she canceled the possibility of a potential fight between her son and Mark Zuckerberg

In October 2020, MMA legend Khabib Nurmagomedov officially retired from the sport due to his mother’s wishes. Elon Musk could now be finding himself in a somewhat similar situation as his mother is shutting down the possibility of him fighting Mark Zuckerberg.

Once Musk offered to fight Zuckerberg, he claimed on Twitter that the bout could happen inside an Octagon in Las Vegas. Momma Musk responded by saying:

“No joking. Fight with words only. In armchairs. 4 feet apart. The funniest person wins.”

She followed up with two more tweets saying:

“And now the fight has been canceled. Great relief!”

“Actually, I canceled the fight. I haven’t told them yet. But I will continue to say the fight is canceled, just in case…”

Musk and Zuckerberg would undoubtedly generate millions and millions of dollars if they were to fight. UFC president Dana White is confident that the bout would be one of the biggest of all time, with all the money being donated to charity. Only time will tell if the billionaires decide to put on the gloves.
