  • Drake appears to have bet $500K on Jon Jones at UFC 285
  • The rapper has gone through a series of losses in his bets on UFC fights

Rap star and avid UFC fan Drake is back at it again with his massive betting. This time, the award-winning artist appeared to have wagered a total of 500,000 Canadian dollars on Jon Jones to secure a finish on Ciryl Gane at UFC 285.

Big fights, big money

In recent years, Drake has become a staple name in sports betting not only because he’s a famous rapper but because of the insane amount of money he wagers on massive UFC fights.

According to a recent tweet by br_betting, Drake has put $250,000 Canadian dollars on Jones to beat Gane via KO and another $250,000 on the former longtime UFC light heavyweight champion to win via submission.

“Drake dropping a total of $500K on Jon Jones to win by submission and by KO. Jon Jones only loss in his career was a DQ…”

Remember the Drake Curse?

Though Drake has already gained notoriety for wagering huge amounts of money on his favorite UFC stars, he also earned quite a reputation for blowing it. Hence, the birth of the so-called “Drake Curse.”

To put this into perspective, Drake lost in all of his last three reported bets on UFC fights.

It can be recalled that the rapper previously lost nearly $239,000 when he bet on former UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo, who lost to Merab Dvalishvili via decision at UFC 278. Drake also lost over $400K betting on then-welterweight champion Kamaru Usman, who got knocked out and dethroned by Leon Edwards in the same event.

To top it all off, Drake blew a whopping $2 million when he bet on Israel Adesanya at UFC 281. As most of us can remember, “The Last Stylebender” was stopped by his ultimate nemesis and eventual middleweight champion Alex Pereira.

It is yet to be determined whether the Drake Curse will prevail at UFC 285 once again, or the rapper will finally break it.
