Remember when DMX was supposed to fight some dude named Eric Martinez in an MMA fight back in 2009? Well I remember dammit, and I wrote about it five years ago. That was back when MMA was still somewhat experimental and bouts like that were not that unlikely to actually occur. Now MMA has gone through a complete homogenization with the UFC taking the lead. In fact the entire face of MMA has been shaped into what the UFC envisions, and it appears that it’s going to stay that way for the remainder of the sport’s history. However I didn’t start writing this article to wander down some philosophical vortex of the nature of MMA. Not at all, I’m entirely too hungover for that. However I do want you to know that DMX is a giant fan of MMA and when/if Anderson Silva does come back, he would love to walk out with The Spider and Dana White seems completely cool with it.
