Darren Till has a plan brewing now that he is free of his UFC contract.

Darren Till was a crucial part of the UFC welterweight and middleweight division for a long time. Recently Till asked for a release from the UFC after a string of losses. Many were surprised by the news that Till has left the organization but now he is explaining why he chose to do so and what could be next for him.

In recent months there has been a number of fighters deciding to leave the UFC in search of better opportunities. Two of the bigger names to do this are Francis Ngannou and Nate Diaz. Till however, does not seem like he is leaving in order to try his chances elsewhere, instead he is looking to heal up from a lingering injury. However whether it was his intention or not, it seems now that Till is getting some lucrative offers and might wind up seeking employment in a new promotion or sport.

Darren Till is getting big offers but does not want to be disrespectful to the UFC

Till is one of the bigger names in the sport of MMA. He is a fan favorite and although he has lost his last few bouts, he was faced with very tough competition. He has been in the top ten of two divisions in the UFC for a long time so it is no surprise that people want to be in the Darren Till business. Till spoke to Michael Bisping and Anthony Smith on their podcast about what could possibly be next for him.

“I’ve always had a good relationship with Hunter and Dana and I think it’d be disrespectful for me to say that I’m gonna go and fix me body and then take fights outside the UFC even though the past two days I’ve had some f–king crazy offers to fight on some other shows,” he said. “Everyone texted me and all the managers and stuff like, someone wants to give you this or that I’m like, okay. In my mind, that would be quite disrespectful to Hunter and Dana to do that whether I will or not, it’s a different thing you know. You got to think about yourself and money that’s it, I’m probably not going to do that.”

Till may not have intended to seek any fights during his scheduled time away but now that the offers are rolling in he might be persuaded. He tweeted a post that seemed to insinuate his desire to move to box for the time being and explains to Bisping and Smith that striking might be a good way to keep busy while healing his knees.

“I’ve got a two-year plan in my mind now, and I feel like it’s gonna be a f–king unbelievable plan. And I’m gonna execute it to the most I can. So that’s it. I mean, I don’t want to say too much about it. But I’m gonna make the money. I’m going to probably do a little striking match or two, because that’s my forte and hopefully by then I’ll have figured out this f–king stuff here with my knees.”

Till would not be the first fighter to leave the UFC and move to boxing. Many have been doing this or planning to do the exact same thing. When all is said and done, Till did express his desire to come back to the UFC. Right now he is giving himself two years to follow his plan and make the most money he can.
