- Henry Cejudo decided to fire his longtime coach ahead of UFC 298 during the recent episode UFC Countdown
- Darren Till criticized “Triple C” for doing such thing
Darren Till was not pleased by how Henry Cejudo treated his longtime coach after “Triple C” fired him on camera.
That’s not good Henry
Cejudo has been known in the world of MMA for his wild and bold takes on various matters. However, the former UFC two-division champ seems to have taken it to another level when he fired his longtime coach Eric Albarracin in the recent episode of UFC Countdown.
For context, Albarracin had been with “Triple C” for more than a decade and was one of the people pivotal to his Olympic success and rise to UFC superstardom. Apparently, Cejudo has been cleaning house and Albarracin was one of the people he got rid of.
“You were with me from my last Olympic trials, you’ve been there for me, but as of right now, I just want to let you know that for this camp, I’m getting rid of specific coaches, man. That’s you included, dude,” Cejudo told Albarracin.
“Sometimes you are too close to somebody and people just get too comfortable,” Cejudo said after firing his coach.

Albarracin then responded and told Cejudo:
“The goal has always been the same: For you to be the greatest combat sports athlete of all time. And to me, that was a dream come true.”
Touched by how peacefully Albarracin took his decision, Cejudo concluded:
“This is why this man is the GOAT coach. The most unselfish human that you will ever meet. Captain Eric Albarracin.”
While it’s normal for any fighter to fire his coach if he thinks he’s no longer relevant, what Till did not appreciate was the fact that Cejudo had to do it in front of the cameras.
In a reaction tweet, “The Gorilla” called “Triple C” out over it.
“Nah doing that on camera is proper proper bad gear. Come on Henry do better than that mate. Fucking not good that,” Till wrote.

Henry’s final run
As it stands, Cejudo will try and bounce back after losing to Aljamain Sterling in their bantamweight title fight at UFC 288. He would make the most of his opportunity when he faces Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 298.
For “Triple C,” he would either win and compete for the title or lose and finally retire. UFC 298 will take place this weekend at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, U.S.A.
