  • Dana White is open to making Jon Jones vs. Tyson Fury fight happen inside the Octagon
  • The UFC boss would be waiting for Fury’s response

UFC president Dana White seemed to have grown tired of the buzz about Jon Jones and Tyson Fury. He now wants to make the fight happen, not in boxing, but in the UFC.

The offer has been made

Speaking to reporters in his UFC Vegas 74 post-fight presser, White willingly touched the subject and challenged “The Gypsy King” to take on “Bones” inside the Octagon. The UFC boss pointed out that he believes Jones is the baddest man on the planet but if Fury begs to disagree, they can settle it in an MMA fight and not in boxing.

“One of the things that I want to kind of point out with you guys that happened recently, and I like Tyson Fury, I have a great relationship with Tyson Fury. So, there’s this debate going on about who is the baddest man on the planet. Jon Jones is the baddest man on the planet, there’s no doubt about it. So when we talk about baddest man on the planet, if two guys fought in a fight, who would win? If you want to discuss another possible baddest man on the planet, it would be Tyson Fury, in a boxing arena, and we all know if Jon Jones boxed Tyson Fury, Tyson Fury wins,” White explained.

“All of these boxing guys want to keep talking about this and keep it in the ring. I’m telling Tyson Fury, whom I respect very much, if you really want to find out who the baddest man on the planet is, I will make that fight. I will make Jon Jones vs. Tyson Fury in the Octagon,” White continued. “…We figured out how to pay Floyd, We’ll figure out how to pay you too, Tyson.”

“The offer is out there, if you want to do it in the UFC and I know he was messing around a little with MMA for a little while there, let’s do it,” he concluded. “Let’s answer the question. But these guys [in the UFC] aren’t boxing. Listen, if you want the fight, if you want the title of baddest man on the planet, let’s do it. I’m in.”

It’s just a call away

Despite being all-in on the Jones vs. Fury MMA fight, White made it clear that it’s not something he is more excited about than the Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic heavyweight title fight. Instead, White said he just wants to put an end to it. And since he and Fury have a good relationship, White suggested that all the heavyweight boxing champ should do is give him a call.

“I’m saying instead of you know speculating, we could all talk about this forever, but there’s only one way to find out. I’m willing to do it. Tyson can call me himself. He has my number, we have a good relationship, or Tyson’s people can call me and we’ll get it done,” White stressed.

Fury and Jones have been calling out one another recently and it seems like they could wind up facing each other a la Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather in 2107.

At the moment, White is still looking forward to have Jones vs. Miocic booked for November at the Madison Square Garden.
