Dana White is teasing a big announcement — and yes, it involves UFC megastar Conor McGregor.

It’s been nearly three years since we’ve seen ‘Mystic Mac’ grace the Octagon, the last time coming in July 2021 when he suffered a broken leg in the opening round of his trilogy bout with Dustin Poirier. Since then, the Irishman has been teasing his quote-unquote “greatest comeback in combat sports history” every other week.

It now appears as though McGregor’s return is closer than ever as the UFC CEO recently released a video on Instagram of the former two-division titleholder with the caption, “Coming Soon……”

Is Dana White Preparing to Announce Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler at UFC 300?

McGregor and his expected opponent, ‘Iron’ Michael Chandler, have remained adamant that their long-awaited clash will go down at UFC 303 on June 29 — the culmination of this year’s International Fight Week in Las Vegas. White has routinely contradicted his fighters, suggesting that McGregor’s earliest return date would be in the fall, if ever.

However, it now appears that White may have been simply pulling our leg in an attempt to keep one of the biggest announcements of the year under wraps until he found the right time to let the cat out of the bag.

Could we see McGregor vs. Chandler finally announced at UFC 300? How crazy would it be to see the two of them face off in front of a sold-out T-Mobile Arena at the biggest event in the promotion’s 30+ year history? Admit it, you’ve goosebumps just thinking about it.

Admittedly, that’s nothing more than speculation and a little bit of wishful thinking, but with this being Dana White’s first time acknowledging the imminent return of Conor McGregor, a little excitement is warranted.
