Michael Page Inks UFC Deal, Set to Clash with Kevin Holland at UFC 299
Having spent the better part of his career with Bellator, the 21-2 Page made quite an impact with several spectacular knockouts in their cage over nearly a decade. Notable victories include wins over Douglas Lima, Paul Daley, Derek Anderson, and Evangelista Santos. His most recent fight was at Bellator 292 in March, where he triumphed over Goiti Yamauchi.
Meanwhile, Holland’s recent track record stands at 4-3 in his last seven fights. He notably faced a split decision loss against Della Maddalena at Noche UFC in September.
Meanwhile, Ian Garry also has a new fight scheduled against Geoff Neal.
Initially set to battle Vicente Luque on the UFC 296 main card, Garry had to withdraw on Wednesday due to pneumonia. Now, just a few days later, he’s back in action with a new date and opponent. White didn’t specify why the fight with Luque wasn’t rescheduled.
Garry and Neal have a bit of history. They were supposed to face off at UFC 292 in August, but Neal had to withdraw, and Neil Magny stepped in. Garry secured a solid unanimous decision win against Magny. Before that event, Garry caused a stir by sporting a t-shirt with Neal’s mugshot, sparking buzz online.
The undefeated Irishman is highly touted in the MMA circuit, especially in the 170-pound category. Meanwhile, Neal, an experienced fighter, aims to climb back into title contention after his submission loss to Shavkat Rakhmonov in March. Neal had impressive back-to-back victories over Luque and Santiago Ponzinibbio prior to that defeat.
