So how many more years is Dana White’s new contract with the UFC again? One day into his new seven year deal with the UFC, Dana White has already peaked.
Also one day into his new deal, White has already done more interviews than he usually does. White not only sat down with the homie Megan Olivi for an extended interview, he also spoke with Kevin Iole.
Iole and Yahoo Sports have always had an interesting relationship with the UFC. Most of the time it’s pretty much Iole kissing the hand of White on everything the UFC does. But every now and again, White will go off on Iole for no real reason and just use him as a MMA media punching bag.
Announcing his new contract with the UFC and the company’s new pay-per-view deal with ESPN, one would think White would be in a good mood.It appears he was but he was also in an odd mood while he ranted on topics.
White has been in the MMA game going on two decades and maybe he’s reaching the point where he’s too deep in the forest to see the trees. While speaking on three round versus five rounds fight, White just forgets that all UFC fight card main events are now five rounds by default. It has been that way for how many years now?
Dana: What is my incentive to fight a 5 round fight instead of 3 unless I'm getting the title. I know I'm gonna get more PPV money & I know I'm the #1 contender. Why am I gonna fight 5 rounds. Fuck you, I'll fight 3 rounds.
But, all of your non PPV main events are 5 rounds.

Okay then.
White would go on to explain why Khabib is not fighting until October and the real reason the lightweight division needs another interim title.
Then White counted off the order of the months.
Dana told Iole they've done a non-title PPV main event maybe once, Silva/Diaz & it didn't get a good response.
Yeah, it only did an est 650k buys 🤦♂️

August, what’s that anyway? Also pretty cool that Halloween is coming before Labor Day this year. Way to shake things up 2019.
