Dana White Has A Message For Yair Rodriguez

Yair Rodriguez shared his side of the story why he was cut by UFC after turning few fights down. Rodriguez disagrees, claiming he wanted a fighter who was ranked in the first ten or a contract renegotiation. Yair Rodriguez also claims he was ready to accept something of these two options (Ricardo Lamas and Zabit Magomedsharipov) that were offered to him.

However, Dana White disagrees, and he has a brutal comment. Talking in his style, White claimed that the UFC isn’t a place for Yair Rodriguez if he doesn’t want to fight. According to White, the Mexican-born rising star was denying fights, and that is the reason why he was cut. (via MMAMania.com)

“We offered him fights, he turned down the fights. There was a lot more back and forth that went on with that. If you don’t want to fight, this isn’t the place to be. There’s plenty of places out there that will take Yair Rodriguez and would love to have him, and would sign him and I’m sure he’ll have a great career. This isn’t the place for you.”

When it is about the possible UFC return for Yair Rodriguez, Dana White leaves the option hanging in the air.

“I don’t know. We’ll see. When I call you and offer you a fight, you should probably take it. You should probably take it. I make 42 fights a year, and if you don’t want to fight and you want to be picky and choosy — and you don’t want do this and you don’t want do that — you probably need to go somewhere else. And I’ll help you get there.”

On the other side, Nate Diaz and Nick Diaz are constantly turning down fights, having problems with the law, and they are still in the public eye, and nobody has even thought of releasing them.

I mean, this simply isn’t fair. UFC officials are leaving a message that fighter cannot move the needle or turn the fight down if he isn’t a superstar like Conor McGregor. Yair Rodriguez was on his way to become a promotion superstar… was this a good move?

It looks like Dana White wants to warn all the fighters climbing the rooster – do not do what Yair Rodriguez did! Did Dana White made a mistake here, what are your thoughts?
