With the way Colby Covington has been talking, Dana White is not surprised that Jorge Masvidal punched him on the street.
The incident between the rivals would come a few weeks after Masvidal suffered a dominating loss to Covington at UFC 272. ‘Gamebred’ decided it wasn’t game over yet and proceeded to sucker punch Covington outside a steak restaurant in Miami Beach.
Masvidal wouldn’t get away with it as ‘Chaos’ pressed charges on his foe. Masvidal was arrested and then released on $15K bail with a court date later this month.
White Isn’t Surprised
While UFC President Dana White doesn’t approve of violence outside of the Octagon, he understands why it happened the way it did.
“In no way, shape or form do I ever condone violence in people, my guys fighting on the streets and shit like that,” White said on the Pat McAfee Show.
“But on the flip-side, when you’re dealing with a guy like Jorge Masvidal and you start talking about his family… say what you want to say about me or you hate me or you think I’m ugly or stupid. But when you start talking about people’s family, it goes to a whole other level. You talking about people’s families and you’re walking out of a restaurant, you better be ready for a guy like Jorge Masvidal to run up on you.”

White would continue on about this.
“Is anybody shocked? He talked sh*t about his kids and his wife and you think he’s not gonna do that? Of course he’s gonna do that.”
‘Man Code’
In the midst of this heated rivalry between Masvidal and Covington, White would bring up ‘the man code’.
“There’s something that’s called the f*cking man code, White added. “A lot of these young goofy dudes don’t know about it but they need to learn about it.”
