For top contender and habitual UFC line-crosser, Colby Covington says that lines can be crossed when it comes to exposing people.
The No. 1 ranked middleweight Covington has been known to talk about people’s countries, wives, kids, and families. As a result, he has taken criticism, deservedly so. In fact, Jorge Masvidal noted his recent attack on the former interim champion was because he talked about his kids.
No Line
Lately, Covington has been attacking former teammate Dustin Poirier and his wife when given a chance. In the past, he has also said he is the father of Poirier’s daughter. Yikes.
Covington was on the Full Send Podcast recently, and he said that there is no line when exposing people’s wives.
“That’s the thing, I don’t think there is a line when you’re exposing and putting that stuff out there,” Covington said when asked about talking about wives. “For someone like Dustin, who is openly putting his wife out there and saying he’s a good father, that’s what he is portraying. He’s using them as props. So, if you’re going to use someone as a prop, I might say something about them.”

When asked what’s the deal with Julie Poirier, Covington pointed to Conor McGregor’s ‘Your wive is in me DMs.’
“Haven’t you seen she’s in [McGregor’s] DMs and stuff? That’s real. I’m pretty sure Conor has smashed that. There is nothing too low to sell fights, and get fights in this industry,” Covington said. “This is the same guy who said it’s on sight with me and he wanted to act like this tough guy. So, if you’re so tough Louisana swamp trash, come fight, let’s do this. Pick a sight.”
Jolie Poirier
‘Chaos’ was then asked if he would ‘smash’ Poirier’s wife, Jolie. Consider him not interested.
“The thing is, I have standards,” Covington answered. And she doesn’t fit the standards of the girl I’d hook up with.
Covington is coming off a unanimous decision win over former teammate and roommate Masvidal at UFC 272. He is also going to be in a lawsuit with him very soon.
