Conor McGregor was spotted behind the bar slinging drinks amid rumors of his return to the Octagon early next year.

It’s been well over three years since McGregor last competed on MMA’s biggest stage, suffering a broken leg in the opening round of his trilogy bout with Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. Originally, McGregor was supposed to follow through on his “greatest comeback in combat sports history” in June, headlining UFC 303 opposite former Bellator champion Michael Chandler

Unfortunately, a broken pinky toe prompted McGregor to bow out of the bout.

Thus far, no replacement date has been announced, but late 2024 or early 2025 seems to be the target for both ‘Mystic Mac’ and Chandler. Whether or not that actually happens remains to be seen.

Either way, McGregor is clearly not ready to stop partying, as evidenced by his recent trip to The Garden State where he was behind the bar at the River Rock Restaurant & Marina on the Jersey Shore serving patrons his Forged Irish Stout and having a good time.

UFC Fans Want to See Less Partying and More Fighting Out of Conor McGregor

It didn’t take long for the video clip to make the rounds on social media, prompting a variety of responses from fans who are clearly getting tired of seeing McGregor in the headlines daily despite never actually competing.

“He needs to retire. He doing everything but fighting.”

“Full time bartender, part time UFC fighter.”

“He’ll never fight again.”

“Buddy doing side quests now.”

“This man has fallen off the deep end.”

“Looks like an intense training camp for McGregor.”

“Conor is an alcoholic and it’s sad.”

“How different his legacy would be if he never fought Floyd.”

Piggy-backing off the last comment, McGregor was a solid 10-1 under the UFC banner and held both the featherweight and lightweight titles, becoming the first simultaneous two-division champion in promotional history. Sadly, the Irishman gave up both belts for a big-money matchup with legendary pugilist Floyd Mayweather in August 2017.

McGregor lost the bout via a 1oth-round TKO and he’s never been the same since.

He has since gone 1-3 inside the Octagon with all three of his losses coming inside the distance and his lone victory being against a past-his-prime Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone at UFC 246.

It’s hard to imagine that at 36 years old, McGregor could still muster the interest to come back and fight despite already obtaining a bottomless pit of money. But, if he’s willing to try, fans are still willing to fork over their hard-earned money to watch.

At least we can always go back and remember how great McGregor was at one point. Check out some of the Irish megastar’s top career finishes below:
