Conor McGregor seems to be enjoying the new combat sports league called Power Slap and could be interested in joining.

There is a new combat sports league on the block and it is run by UFC president Dana White. The name of the league is Power Slap and it is exactly what it sounds like, slap fighting. The premise is to pit two men or two women against each other in slap combat until one cannot continue. This vicious sport caught some backlash when it was first announced but is now sanctioned by the Nevada Athletic Commission and has held its very first episode on TBS.

Fans around the world tuned in for the first airing and some caught a glimpse of slap fighting for the first time. It seems the sport has gained the interest of some of the world’s biggest athletes including Stefon Diggs and Conor McGregor. Diggs took to his Instagram story to provide fans with some commentary while watching it on TV, and now McGregor is teasing doing the same, only on-site instead of on social media.

Conor McGregor teases becoming the “Joe Rogan of Power Slap”

Power Slap is run by White and has been greatly promoted on the UFC’s social media pages. Many UFC fighters have spoken bout slap fighting and some even showed their desire to be involved. McGregor could be looking to do the same only he is not interested in doing the slapping, he wants to be a commentator.

“I could potentially be the Joe Rogan of Power Slap,” he wrote on Twitter.

McGregor went down a bit of a rabbit hole on the subject of Power Slap. He rattled off some tips and began to do a little breaking down just for fun.

“If anything, power slap is showing the importance of turning back your shoulder and torquing your torso into the shot,” he wrote. “Turning of the hip” potentially the wrong terminology being used. Hips less important? Possible also. Turn your shoulder back and torque fully into strike! K.O.”

McGregor has been absent from the UFC for a while now to focus on recovery and to film a movie. He is teasing a return this year, but in the meantime perhaps could sit in on a few Power Slap events. He is still the biggest name in the UFC and having him involved with the Power Slap League could only be good for business.
