Clay Guida’s last outing in the Octagon ended with him beating Takanori Gomi, the one fighter in the world that can bust your [expletive] up with a hadouken, so it is no wonder he is not impressed with Anthony Pettis. Clay cedes that Pettis is talented, but he thinks ‘Showtime’ needs to “pay his dues in the UFC” before he is considered a top lightweight, never mind worthy of a title shot. The shaggy haired RV enthusiast gave his opinion on the matter to ESPN.com:
“It’s my time. I’m going to make him pay [his UFC dues] June 4. It’s not out of any rivalry or anything like that, but he’s going to realize that it’s time to step it up.”
“Pettis is super tough. He’s riding a wave of confidence, he’s got the kick heard around the world and he’s beaten some tough guys. But I know I’ve fought and lost to tougher guys than him, and I’ve beaten better guys than him.”
This fight can only be exciting, especially if Pettis has spend his down time perfecting his Shoryuken with Duke Roufus.
