After being sidelined for two and a half year due to nagging injuries, Velasquez returned to the Octagon at UFC on ESPN 1; however, he came up short against Francis Ngannou via 26-second knockout into round one earlier this year from Phoenix, Arizona.
Back in December of 2018 Velasquez signed a new four-fight deal with UFC.
