Cain Velasquez Officially Set To Make Pro-Wrestling Debut

Earlier this year former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez announced that he is going to make his pro- wrestling debut in Mexico City, Mexico and today he made it official at AAA press conference.

Velasquez will team up with Cody Rhodes and Psycho Clown in a six-man tag team match. TripleMania is a premier event of the year for AAA promotion. This is one of the most popular promotions on Mexican TV.

ESPN’s reporter Marc Raimondi reported the news on social media.

“Cain Velasquez makes his pro-wrestling debut at TripleMania on Aug. 3 in Mexico City. Announced at a AAA press conference today: Velasquez will be teaming with Cody Rhodes in a six-man tag team match.”

After being sidelined for two and a half year due to nagging injuries, Velasquez returned to the Octagon at UFC on ESPN 1; however, he came up short against Francis Ngannou via 26-second knockout into round one earlier this year from Phoenix, Arizona.

Back in December of 2018 Velasquez signed a new four-fight deal with UFC.
