Bruce Buffer introduced the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs on Super Bowl opening night on Monday in Las Vegas.
The 49ers are set to play the Chiefs on Sunday at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas for Super Bowl LVIII, and to kick off Super Bowl week, the NFL had the voice of the Octagon in Buffer to introduce the two teams.

Given Buffer lives in Las Vegas it made perfect sense for him to introduce the two teams as he has an iconic voice. It also helped fire up the players before the big game on Sunday night in Vegas.
Although the UFC is Buffer’s main job, he has also introduced the Las Vegas Raiders and helped kick off F1’s first race in Las Vegas.
Bruce Buffer has no plans of retiring from UFC
With Bruce Buffer being 66, many wondered how much longer he has left to be the voice of the Octagon. However, back in 2023 he interviewed with BJPENN and revealed he still has 10 years left.
“I plan on doing it for another 10 years. I’m 65 now so I plan on doing it for another 10 years. The bottom line is as long as I can physically and energetically do it the way I want to do it (I’ll still be doing it). I don’t want to be one of those announcers, with all due respect to everybody that announces that stands still and does their thing,” Buffer said to BJPENN.com last year.
“That is all great and there is nothing wrong with that, of course, it’s fantastic, but me, I have to move, I have to enjoy, and I have to throw my passion and everything I have into that Octagon floor. I used to bang quite a bit myself and I know what it is like, you are about to go to war with somebody you are about to put your blood, sweat, and tears and your life on the line. They deserve every ounce of everything I can give them. As long as my passion stays, if my passion ever wanes for whatever I do and I feel like I’m phoning it, then it’s time to retire.”
As for the UFC, they remain at the Apex on Saturday for UFC Vegas 86 as Jack Hermansson takes on Joe Pyfer in the main event.
