Brendan Schaub On Jorge Masvidal Sucker-Punching Colby Covington: “That Is The Most B*tch Sh*t In The World”

Schaub gave his two cents on the Masvidal-Covington situation.

Former UFC fighter Brendan Schaub was surprised Colby Covington pressed charges on Jorge Masvidal.

It has been exactly a week since Masvidal sucker-punched Covington at a restaurant in Miami. Since then, Masvidal was arrested and charged with aggravated battery resulting in great bodily harm and one count of criminal mischief. “Gamebred” has since been released on bond and plead not guilty.

Don’t press charges

Former UFC fighter turned podcaster Schaub gave his take on the situation on Monday on “The Schaub Show.” He, like many fighters, was surprised that Covington pressed charges.

“I was surprised [Covington] is pressing charges,” Schaub said. “From fighter to fighter, things happen. Especially because they go back, man. They were roommates, best friends. I mean, to press charges, especially with aggravated assault… If you press charges and [Masvidal] is found guilty, which he will be, he’s looking at time, dude. You really want to put Masvidal away for, I don’t know, 2 years, 3 years, over this? Seems a little excessive. I wish someone can get in Colby’s ear and just be like, ‘Don’t press charges, dude. Don’t do that, man.”

“As for Masvidal, you can’t be hitting people, dude.”

You had 25 minutes

Schaub ripped Masvidal because the “BMF” fighter had 25 minutes to hurt Covington legally and couldn’t.

“Bro, you got paid for 25 minutes to literally do whatever you want to him,” Schaub said. You had 25 minutes and got paid for it on pay-per-view worldwide TV. You got your ass whooped…Colby beat his ass for 25 minutes, dude. And then you retaliate by finding out what restaurants he is at and sucker-punching him?”

Now you’re looking at 2-3 years in prison. It’s so stupid, and for what? Did it feel good to sucker-punch a guy and clip his tooth when you got literally destroyed for 25 minutes legally by commission in the sport? Doesn’t make sense.”

Schaub isn’t a fan at all of the sucker punch aspects of the story. In fact, he thinks it is “the most bitch sh*t in the world.”

“Anybody can sucker-punch somebody. I could walk up behind Francis Ngannou right now and sucker punch him. Who gives a sh*t. That is the most b*tch sh*t in the world. Nobody respects that, and if you do, my god, man. If you respect a sucker punch, you’re a sucker yourself…it’s just such bitch sh*t,” Schaub said.

The former UFC fighter equated what Masivdal did to what Will Smith did to Chris Rock at the 2022 Academy Awards.

“I don’t get how anyone would respect any of this. Will Smith to Masvidal. Will Smith, basically a cheap shot, too. It’s just b*tch tendencies, dude. Soft sh*t. Society’s getting softer and softer. Anybody who’s sticking up for Will Smith, sticking up for Masvidal, it’s just soft, beta, soy boy sh*t,” Schaub said.
