In honor of Invicta 4, we now present you the juxtaposition of an estrogen-filled fight weekend with a man who still donates his testosterone for therapeutic use to still active athletes – Tank Abbott. We blast back to the wild west known as the 90’s, where the 4:3 aspect ratio and goateed men were kings. Back when mocking your stiff and knocked out opponent was an acceptable post-fight celebration. This is when Tank Abbott was the manly face of MMA as we knew it, win or lose. Many people look back on the golden age of MMA with Tank Abbott as the guy who got them interested in the sport, a legit brawler who had the foresight to wear gloves so he didn’t break his hands on his opponent’s skull. In this way, he was an innovator.
Nevermind his later years in the sport, the 100% legit rematch against Scott Ferrozzo, his fight against Kimbo, or his current hipster Santa Clause look. Just remember Tank in his scary prime.
