Bellator CEO willing to co-promote to show Eddie Alvarez is the best LW in the world

The fact that Eddie Alvarez placed first in our Top Ten Fades in MMA list should throw him at the top of the heap of 155lbers out there. If you’re not familiar with what a fade is, it’s essentially a way to gradually shave hair so that it ‘fades’ the lower you get to the neck. Eddie Alvarez is like The Last Starfighter of MMA fades. Dude’s eyebrow fade could defeat half the fades on our Top Ten List. CEO of Bellator, Bjorn Rebney, knows this and he’s willing to pit Eddie Alvarez in the cage with any lightweight out there according to his USA Today interview.

“I’m in a very kind of enviable spot in that I’ve got a guy who I think beats anybody in the world right now, so it’s a terrific position to be in. I look at it kind of more with the fan hat on than the promoter’s hat on and say I’d love to see Eddie fight anybody.”

“I feel the same way about Hector Lombard. I’d love to see Hector Lombard fight anybody in the world right now. There’s nobody I wouldn’t want him to fight. I watched the Hendo – Jake Shields fight and I kept (thinking), ‘Wow, how cool would it be to see Jake Shields fight Hector Lombard?'”

Well Bjorn, we actually asked Dan Henderson whether he would be down to fight Hector Lombard at 185lb, Hendo said: “Probably slim, probably slim. I’m sure Hector would want to fight me to get his name out there a little better“. Ouch. Granted this was before Strikeforce Nashville went down so things may have shifted in Dan Henderson’s cerebellum. [Source]
