Well it wasn’t pretty, but Andrei Arlovski just ground out a TKO win over Ray Lopez halfway through the third round. The fight started with Andrei finding his rhythm and bouncing around as Lopez stalked the former UFC champ with his hand cocked, hoping to push the knockout button. Andrei throws a few combinations then works the dirty boxing into a takedown right into full mount. He proceeds to punch Ray Lopez’s arms for the remaining minutes of the first round. More of the same in round 2 as you can almost feel Andrei get his confidence back. More clinching leads to another slick takedown by AA and into the full mount where he lands more shots than the previous round.
Round three opens, The Pitbull takes down Lopez yet again, and the ref saves Lopez from further beat downery, Andrei Arlovski wins via a mellow TKO in the third round, snapping a four fight losing streak. Fun show tonight from Pro Elite, I must say.
